Highlighting local non-profit supporting richness of Mexican culture in Colorado allows everyone to get involved in honoring contributions of Hispanic and Latino Americans

Hispanic Heritage Month, celebrated across the country from September 15 through October 15, is a wonderful time to honor the many contributions of Hispanic Americans.  This month, Hacienda Colorado highlights the Latino, Hispanic and Latinx communities by highlighting the mission of the Mexican Cultural Center in Denver and dedicating $1 from each Tableside Guacamole ordered to create a donation of up to $5,000 for the non-profit that builds stronger communities by increasing awareness of Mexico’s splendid traditions, travel, cuisine, art, music and handcrafts through engaging, community-centered activities.

“In Latino culture, food brings us together, so we are excited to help our guests come together in support of an important local non-profit,” said Ron Vasquez, vice president of culinary for Hacienda Colorado. “As part of our celebration of Hispanic culture and heritage, we are honored to bring the message of the Mexican Cultural Center into our restaurants and directly to our guests.”

Guests may also enjoy contributing to the Mexican Cultural Center by ordering a delicious new appetizer for Hacienda Colorado, Tableside Guacamole. When guests order Tableside Guacamole, their server brings all the freshness to the table via a custom kitchen cart. Guests then select from a variety of ingredients, including fresh onions, cilantro, jalapenos, tomatoes and more to be added to their Hass avocados. The server mashes the avocadoes with the fresh ingredients right before their eyes in a traditional molcajete, made from volcanic rock and used in the production of traditional Mexican dishes such as salsa and guacamole. Bursting with freshness and flavor, this delicious guacamole is then enjoyed by guests with warm, fresh corn chips. Tableside Guacamole is $15, with $1 from each Tableside Guacamole ordered September 15 through November 1 benefiting the Mexican Cultural Center in Denver.

“For the past 30 years, the Mexican Cultural Center (MCC) has worked in partnership with major art and cultural institutions in Denver to promote and maintain the richness of Mexican culture in Colorado,” said Jesse Martinez, executive director of the Mexican Cultural Center. “Thanks to generous supporters like Hacienda Colorado, the MCC is honored to provide culturally inclusive experiences and events for families and the community at no cost. We are honored to have everyone join us in celebrating our 30th anniversary. Through continued support from community partners like Hacienda Colorado, we look forward to continuing to fulfill our mission for many years to come!”

Founded in 1992, the MCC is a non-profit organization that works in partnership with cultural, educational and other institutions to promote and maintain the richness of Mexican culture in the State of Colorado. The Mexican Cultural Center is dedicated to increasing awareness of Mexico’s unique arts, customs, traditions and destinations among the audiences in the U.S.
